Whether you're new to wearing clogs or have been wearing them for years, sometimes fit can be a bit tricky. Rest asure, we are here as your clog guide to help you find the perfect Sandgrens fit for you.
To be sure and find your right size, simply measure the width and length of your feet and compare your measurements to the style's specific size guide.
Stand up straight on a flat surface with your heel against the wall. Put a piece of blank paper taped to the floor below your foot and mark the longest and widest part of your foot on the paper. Repeat with the other foot as left and right sizes might differ. You'll find the style's size guide located on the product pages, just over the sizing options (you’ll see a measuring tape icon). If you are between sizes we recommend to size up.
Our clogs are loose-fitting shoes and they are designed to slip on the heel when you walk. This is referred to as slipping which is the traditional fit of this style. For some, your
clogs will fit snug initially before the leather softens up.
Our high-heel clogs have a more narrow fit than our low-heel clogs. If you're unsure of the width, we recommend measuring both of your feet and comparing to the style's specific size guide.

When comparing our two leathers, Nubuck is softer than Vegetable Tanned leather initially is.
To ease the break-in process, we recommend wearing your clogs for a couple of hours a day for the first week and then gradually increase. If you wish to speed up the process, we’d recommend giving the leather a nice massage a few times in-between wears. All you need to do is press the leather in your hands and between your fingers. This will help soften the leather. Wearing socks the first couple of times may also help ease breaking in the clogs.
We have three different heel heights in our catalogue. Low heel, High heel and High Rise heel.
Our lowest heel base, is the base that is best suited for wider feet as the high and high rise heeled base is a bit more narrow.
Keep in mind that wooden clog bases are rigid and will therefore not stretch or bend. This is normal and the essence of a pair of wooden clogs. With a foot bed that has a curve to accommodate the shape of your feet, our wood bases provide arch support.
Here are a couple things we think you should know before you put on your first pair of clogs:
- All our clogs are made by hand, which means that no single pair is identical to the next. This is something we are very proud of and we think you should be too.
- Clogs are designed to allow your heel to “slip” when you walk, even if you have closed back clogs or clog boots. It may take some time getting used to, but after a while you’ll ask why you didn’t always walk in a pair of clogs?
- We recommend wearing your clogs for no more than a couple of hours a day for the first week, then gradually increase so that your body and clogs will adjust to each other.
